Government and University Collaboration/ Lorestan University President's Solutions for Neutralizing Sanctions

The President of Lorestan University emphasized the strengthening of joint cooperation between the country's universities, especially neighboring universities in a region, to neutralize the enemy's oppressive sanctions.

Dr. Khosro Azizi, in an interview with the ISNA news agency of Lorestan region, said: "One of the legal solutions to circumvent the enemy's oppressive sanctions is to expand joint cooperation between the country's universities in the field of using joint equipment and facilities."

He stated: "We are currently under sanctions, and this makes it difficult to provide some university equipment; but for example, universities in the country's regions, such as Region Five, can, by expanding joint scientific, educational, and research cooperation, jointly use each other's facilities and equipment, which is a kind of effective legal solution to effectively counter the enemy's sanctions and neutralize the effects of these sanctions."

The President of Lorestan University added: "Strengthening the internal capacities and potentials of the country, including knowledge-based companies, and supporting these companies and holding startups, which in a way pave the way for identifying talents, is one of the ways to deal with technological and knowledge dependencies abroad and to nullify sanctions."

Dr. Azizi explained: "A community-based university is a university that provides solutions to address the challenges and problems of society, and now, with the exchange of ideas between the government and universities, effective solutions to neutralize sanctions should be presented by researchers and academics of the country's universities."

He continued: "Attention to regional and provincial capacities and potentials in the issue of countering the enemy's sanctions plays an important role, and fortunately, in this regard, Lorestan University has also expanded its various scientific, research, and research collaborations with various sectors of industry and executive management."

The President of Lorestan University stated: "In Lorestan University, many regulations for the promotion of faculty members have been amended in order to apply university topics, which is an important step towards paying attention to the localization and application of university educational topics, and its result is to strengthen national production and knowledge-based economy and reduce dependence on other countries."

Dr. Azizi emphasized: "The principle of self-help and self-belief should be strengthened more than ever in the important and fundamental areas of the country's universities so that we can stand on our own feet in all areas and the hostile actions of the enemies, such as sanctions, cannot have devastating effects on the country's economy."

The President of Lorestan University reminded: "The more the relationship between academics and other sectors of society, such as the industrial and agricultural sectors, is strengthened, the university will have a more effective role in addressing challenges, and as a result, the country's economy will become an independent and powerful economy that sanctions will not be able to weaken."

He said: "The role of the university in a region or a city should be such that if the university is closed at some point, the region will suffer from the lack of the university."

He stated: "A system of active information from the labor market should be created in the university and strategic information of the business environment and the market should be prepared and updated for the continuous analysis of market activities."  

The President of Lorestan University explained: "On one day of the week, the university should host one of the large companies of the province, region, or even the country so that the experience of the managers can be transferred to the students."

He said: "Students, in order to become professional, should learn useful and practical training while working and in a real and constructive interaction with the work environment and based on action and experience, so that the presentation of training is completely effective and practical."

Dr. Azizi added: "Society should be university-oriented; that is, the university should be the think tank of society and have scientific authority."

The President of Lorestan University noted: "Neighboring universities and universities in a region should expand joint cooperation agreements with each other."
