Informal Meeting of International Students with the University President and Vice-Presidents / Dr. Azizi: International Students Should Have Representatives in the Student Union Council

A cordial meeting was held between Dr. Khosro Azizi, President of Lorestan University, and the university's vice-presidents with non-Iranian students. In this cordial meeting, which was held on Wednesday, December 25, at the meeting hall of Shahid Seyed Saeed Mirbaharsi of Lorestan University, non-Iranian students expressed their views and occupational problems. Dr. Khosro Azizi, President of Lorestan University, and the university's vice-presidents issued the necessary orders to solve the related problems. Dr. Khosro Azizi, President of Lorestan University, ordered that one person be elected by the non-Iranian students of Lorestan University, by their own vote, and be present as a representative of non-Iranian students in the Student Union Council of Lorestan University. In this cordial meeting, Hojjatoleslam and Al-Muslimin Dr. Habib Hatami Kon Kaboud, Director of the International Scientific Cooperation Group of Lorestan University, in a short speech, said: «Fortunately, with the planning and follow-up that has been done, currently, 64 non-Iranian students are studying at Lorestan University, and based on the set goal, we hope that this number will increase to 100». Dr. Hatami Kon Kaboud explained: «Strengthening international scientific diplomacy, especially with an emphasis on strengthening scientific and cultural relations between Islamic and Muslim countries, is one of the approaches of the Lorestan University management team». He added: «Establishing a non-Iranian student affairs office at Lorestan University is one of the demands of non-Iranian students, and fortunately, the respected president of Lorestan University, Mr. Dr. Azizi, has issued the necessary orders to create the preliminaries for this work». Strengthening International Scientific Diplomacy of Lorestan University Dr. Khosro Azizi, President of Lorestan University, also said in a speech: «We are happy that the number of non-Iranian students at Lorestan University has now reached more than 60, while until a few years ago, we did not even have one non-Iranian student at Lorestan University». Dr. Azizi stated: «Based on the plans we have made, an office is to be established at Lorestan University under the title of the Non-Iranian Student Affairs Office». The President of Lorestan University stated: «Holding such meetings is to strengthen direct communication between the Lorestan University management team and the students, and we welcome any constructive criticism and sincere suggestions for improving matters». Dr. Khosro Azizi continued: «In recent years, a lot of efforts have been made by the Lorestan University management team to strengthen the international scientific relations of Lorestan University; in this regard, numerous scientific memorandums of understanding have also been concluded between Lorestan University and some other universities of other countries». He explained: «The approach of the Lorestan University management team is to strive as much as possible to strengthen the satisfaction of the students of Lorestan University, both Iranian students and non-Iranian students, with the services provided». The President of Lorestan University stated: «Strengthening relations between Lorestan University and other universities of the countries, especially the universities of Islamic countries, is one of the work priorities of the Lorestan University management team». It is worth mentioning that in this cordial meeting, the non-Iranian students of Lorestan University expressed their occupational problems, including some dormitory problems, and the President of Lorestan University issued the necessary orders to solve the problems. Dr. Hojjatollah Younesi, Vice-President for Student Affairs of Lorestan University, Dr. Mohammad Feyzian, Vice-President for Research and Technology of Lorestan University, and some other managers and experts of Lorestan University also answered the questions of the non-Iranian students of Lorestan University, each according to their field of work.
