The President at a Meeting with Cultural Activists of the Province Hosted by Lorestan University: The Cure for Society's Wounds Lies in Avoiding Discord and Strengthening Dialogue / Insisting on the Wrong Path is the Worst Injustice

Feb 18, 2026

The President, stating that today's society has been wounded, said: The way to heal this wound, which may also be deep, is to avoid discord and conflict, and to strengthen empathy and dialogue. We must join hands, listen to the people's voices, fix this land, and eliminate the impurities.

Dr. "Masoud Pezeshkian" said on Wednesday evening, February 29, 1404, in the nineteenth provincial trip of the government to Lorestan, in a meeting with intellectuals and cultural activists of this province hosted by Lorestan University, stated: We are in this government to pursue justice, fairness, dignity and pride of our country, and despite all the problems and obstacles, we will try to build and develop the country with the cooperation and support of all of you intellectuals, elites, experts and academics.

The President, emphasizing that all the country's problems are due to incorrect education, said: Insisting on ignorance and continuing the wrong path is the greatest injustice. The oppressor is the one who insists on the wrong path but thinks that the path he is taking is correct.

Pezeshkian, emphasizing that the government holds numerous meetings every week to follow up on improving the educational situation and implementing the educational justice development movement, said: Correcting the educational situation is not a path that will yield results quickly. We will get help from everyone to properly educate and train the next generation.

He added: If we can learn to talk to each other and bow down to solid evidence and the right words, but not succumb to pressure and force, we will succeed.

Pezeshkian, emphasizing that in medical science and medicine, the disease needs treatment, said: Treating a wound is not just stating it, but the treatment lies in providing solutions. Treatment is not intensifying the disease, but soothing and calming it.

Insisting on continuing the wrong path is the greatest injustice

The President, stating that there is no greater injustice than to go the wrong way and think that we are on the right path, said: We must think about treating the pains and problems of society and choose the right path, and this path also comes only through dialogue and decisions based on solid scientific evidence. We must accept the right words, and if the right path is shown to us, we must accept it and return from the wrong path.

He added: We have reached here today. Do we have the ability to solve the problems all at once? I have announced many times that if anyone has the ability to help, we welcome it and kiss their hands.

Pezeshkian, emphasizing that the existence of groups, factions and wings is a reality and we must recognize it, said: We must find a way to join hands instead of fighting and disagreement, and with each other's help, remove the problems, eliminate the adversities, and establish truth and correctness.

The President, pointing out that allocating preferential currency in the old way led to rent and bribery, noted: It is impossible to allocate a 28,000-toman dollar in a situation where the exchange rate in the market is 120,000 tomans; certainly, this subsidy will not reach its goal.

We had no choice but to intervene to correct the currency subsidy situation

He continued by referring to the government's actions to eliminate currency and rent-seeking signatures and widespread smuggling, and said: Intervention to correct the currency subsidy situation happened in the worst possible conditions, but we had no choice but to intervene. We must take action to treat the diseases that society is afflicted with, but this will not happen easily, we must try to preserve our Iran.

Pezeshkian, emphasizing that a group is sitting on the other side of the water and wants to tear Iran apart, said: We should not allow the enemies of Iran to lead our youth to the path of deviation and lead the future of this country and its (glorious) history to destruction and hand over our country to bullies and oppressors.

The President, in the continuation of his speech, referring to the book "The Endless War" which narrates the life of American intellectuals during the Vietnam War, stated: Intellectuals and countries are not willing to offer their country's resources to foreigners, (the colonizer) wants to plunder and (the free people) do not want to allow it, and the result of this is an endless war.

We do not want to fight, but we will not bow down in the face of force

He added, stating that America is not worried about democracy in Iran: America has openly announced that it is seeking to seize the oil resources of Venezuela, and the same is true for Canada and other countries. Now do you think that it is seeking to secure the interests of our country and wants to reform our country? We do not want to fight, my belief is that we must put an end to the war, but if they want to force us, should we bow down at any cost? It is not acceptable to me that Iran bows down.

The President, referring to the bravery and heroism of the people of Lorestan, said: It is not befitting for the people of this land and this soil to bow down in the face of bullying. To solve the problems and fix the situation, we must think about treatment, stating the problems alone does not solve any problem, but we must think about solutions and treatment.

Pezeshkian, emphasizing that we should not allow the pressures to accumulate to the point that people are forced to be on the streets to make their voices heard, said: Reforming cultural affairs requires help, and we also get help from anyone who has the ability and expertise. When we cannot solve the problems, we are forced to disagreement and conflict.

He, emphasizing that we must learn dialogue and bow down to solid evidence, said: I (the academic) bow down to the right words and if I make a mistake, I accept it, I do not say in any way that only what I say is correct, because I believe that the truth is independent of you and me.

The President, stating that we have not yet learned to define the indicators based on a common language and perspective, added: This is the reason for many of our problems and disagreements.

There is injustice in the country

Pezeshkian, accepting the existence of some injustices in the country, continued: In Lorestan, East and West Azerbaijan, in Sistan and Baluchestan, North and South Khorasan, Khuzestan and .... , even between the center of the province and the cities, we are witnessing injustice. We are trying to implement justice, but is it possible all at once? We do not have international experience that shows that solving problems all at once is possible, but if anyone knows and can, we kiss their hands and accept their help.

He emphasized: A big wound has been inflicted on the body of society, the heart's capacity of this society is not enough to bear more pressure, intellectuals, sociologists, economists, clerics and everyone must join hands and reduce the burden of pressure on society.

The President, emphasizing that we are seeking to reform affairs, said: If anyone thinks there is a better solution, be sure that we will welcome it; let them say it, if we can, we will reform it, provided it is possible.

Pezeshkian noted: Many times I say my words, but I see that there are obstacles that do not allow its implementation. I can argue and then say as an intellectual, "I said it and it didn't happen!" If we do this, what will happen to the present and future of the country?

I am ready to give my life, my life, my name and my honor for Iran

Pezeshkian, emphasizing that I am ready to give my life, my life, my name and my honor for Iran, emphasized: I am not willing to accept that the wound of our Iran becomes deeper, and I will try as much as I can to heal this wound, not to stabilize and become chronic.

The President, at the end of his speech, quoting a sentence from Dr. Ali Shariati, noted: O God, give me faith that I may give up my name and my bread because of it, not that I may reach name and bread because of it.
